Israel demolishes Palestinian homes in Negev

Israeli forces yesterday demolished two Palestinian houses in the Bedouin villages of Wadi Na’am and Hura, in the Negev region.

The head of Wadi Al-Na’am local committee, Lebad Abu Afash, told Quds Press that large number of the Israeli forces, along with a number of personnel from the Bedouin Development Directorate at the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, carried out the demolition activity under the pretext of “construction without permit”.

Abu Afash added that the demolished home was a shelter to an orphaned Palestinian family, stressing that they are currently “displaced”.

Rights activist Khaled Abu Kharma said the Israeli bulldozers also demolished another house in the outskirts of the Hura village for the same reason.

Some 240,000 Palestinians currently live in the Negev desert, their ownership of the land is not recognised by the Israeli occupation authorities. The occupation "constantly" refuses to provide the occupied city’s residents with the basic services and have been threatening to demolish their homes.
