Malaysian police today released e-fits of two suspects in the assassination of Palestinian academic Fadi Al-Batsh.

"This drawing is based on an eyewitness statement on the day of the incident," Malaysian Police Inspector-General Mohammad Fawzi Harun told a news conference today.

"Based on this drawing, one of the suspects is believed to be from the Middle East or Europe," he said, adding that "they are two bearded men who are 180 centimetres tall."

Al-Batsh, a Palestinian researcher in Malaysia, was assassinated after being shot while walking to a mosque near his home in a Kuala Lumpur suburb. He had moved to the Malaysian capital ten years ago with his wife and three children.

Israeli media reported that Al-Batsh was "an engineer in Hamas and an expert in unmanned aerial vehicles" adding that Mossad was most likely to blame for his assassination.
